WeWork sells majority stake in its China division

As part of cutting costs, WeWork, a New York-based co-working network, is selling a majority stake in its China division for $ 200 million. WeWork buys and leases office properties in major cities around the world. According to the company, it will retain representation on the board of directors. The company will also retain a minority stake in WeWork China. In addition, it will receive an annual fee for using its brand and services. As of the end of Q4 2019, WeWork had 739 offices in 140 cities and more than 662,000 customers. Currently, WeWork is 80% owned by SoftBank. The company hasn't made a profit yet and reported a net loss of $ 723 million in the H1 of the year. “Estimates of growth will depend on how the recovery from the pandemic progresses. Even taking into account the fact that the impact of the virus on the economy will continue until the end of the year, the demand for commercial real estate and co-working services will increase significantly next year. Long-term potential persists," says Yevgeniy Mironyuk Freedom Finance analyst
