Quest Diagnostics Test Development Specialist Creates a Unique Delivery Project

Quest Diagnostics Inc. (DGX, NYSE), the manufacturer of diagnostic tests, launches pilot project of COVID-19 tests drone delivery. The largest US retailer, Walmart Inc. (WMT, NYSE), will be the partner of the project. Quest Diagnostics offers diagnostic tests, information, and services in the US and worldwide. The company provides patients and doctors with access to diagnostic services through a network of laboratories and its own medical centers. Quest Diagnostics also offers consulting services and risk analysis for insurance companies. During the coronavirus pandemic, Quest Diagnostics also began production of COVID-19 tests. This week, Quest Diagnostics announced a drone-based pilot project with Walmart to deliver COVID-19 tests to Las Vegas. The drones will take off from a Walmart outlet located there and deliver the COVID-19 tests to homes about a mile from the mall. Once the customer receives his test kit, he collects the sample with a nasal swab, seals it in an envelope with prepaid and sent to Quest Diagnostics for processing. The company will send the finished results to the patient through its MyQuest web portal and/or mobile application. At this stage, Quest Diagnostics is recruiting volunteers to test the drone delivery program among people living near Walmart, which is a partner of the program. If the program is successful, it will likely be expanded, as there is now a high demand for testing in the market, including the home testing. On September 25, the DGX share was trading at $ 111.7.
